Information Nights for Grade 8 Students Transitioning to High School in September 2025

The Durham District School Board (DDSB) is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for Grade 8 students moving into high school and setting the foundation for their academic and personal success. To support this transition, DDSB is hosting a series of virtual and in-person events to provide valuable insights for students and their families. 

Virtual Transition Information Nights

Two virtual presentations will be held to guide families through the transition process, highlight available resources, and explain initiatives such as "30 Credits My Way," designed to keep students on track to graduate.

In-Person Course Selection Nights 

DDSB secondary schools will host in-person course selection information nights for current Grade 8 students. These events allow families to tour the schools, explore programs, and learn about extracurricular activities available to students. 

Here are the dates for designated high schools:

  • Ajax High School: February 6, 2025, 6:30 PM
  • Anderson C.V.I.: February 6, 2025, 7:00 PM
  • Brooklin High School: February 6, 2025, 7:00 PM (Virtual)
  • Brock High School: January 28, 2025, 6:30–8:00 PM
  • Donald A. Wilson Secondary School: February 6, 2025 (Evening)
  • Dunbarton High School: February 5, 2025, 6:00–8:00 PM
  • Eastdale C.V.I.: February 13, 2025, 6:00–8:00 PM
  • G.L. Roberts C.V.I.: January 15, 2025, 6:30 PM
  • Henry Street High School: February 13, 2025, 6:00–8:00 PM
  • J. Clarke Richardson Collegiate: February 6, 2025, 6:00 PM
  • Maxwell Heights Secondary School: February 6, 2025, 6:00 PM
  • O’Neill C.V.I.: January 16, 2025, 6:30–8:30 PM
  • Pickering High School: February 6, 2025, 5:00 PM
